Information
The TOEFL Preparation Course (Course Code: TU) is a 100-hour course designed
to help learners to:
-
develop their
general language competence
-
develop and improve their reading and listening skills
-
strategies in vocabulary development and enrichment
-
prepare themselves for the TOEFL test through the use of appropriate strategies in dealing with the test questions
The
course runs for 7 weeks, five days a week, Mondays through Fridays. Classes
start at 6.30 P.M. and ends at 9.10 P.M.
Course Date
The next available course (TU-42) will run from August 9 to December 10,
1999.

The course consists of three main components:

Course
Participants
This course is open for the public, particularly adult learners. It is
especially suitable for those who plan to take the TOEFL-like test, the Institutional TOEFL or the International TOEFL, both the computer-based and the paper-based.
Number of
Participants
The minimum number of participants in one class is 15 people and the maximum is 23.

Fee
The total fee is Rp.
500,000, which covers the following:
Payment of the course fee can be done in two installments:
-
The first installment amounts to Rp. 325,000.00, to be done during registration.
-
The second installment is Rp. 175,000.00, to be done at the beginning of Week 3 of the course.

Registration Requirements:
Candidates for the course must:
-
fill in the registration form and turn it in to the financial section of the center;

pay the first installment of the course fee, i.e. Rp.325,000.00 which includes the registration fee;

take the pre-test to be administered on ...
Note:
Course candidates who have registered for the course but do not take the pre-test without prior notice will be considered as resigning from the course. Their registration fees will not therefore be refundable. Yet, they
may claim the course fee they have paid, i.e. Rp. 310,000.00 (see the withdrawal section below).
Course
Cancellation
If the minimum number of students for a level (i.e. 15 students) cannot
be reached, the Center has the rights to cancel the course without any
obligation whatsoever to provide ganti rugi. However, it is obliged to
reimburse all the fees the candidates have paid to the Center. To be
entitled to any reimbursement, candidates must show a receipt of
payment signed by the Center's treasurer.
Withdrawal
Should a candidate intend to withdraw from the course s/he has registered before the start of the course, s/he can claim for 50% of the fee she has paid. However, if a candidate withdraws when the course is running, s/he cannot claim for the fee s/he has paid.
